Middle School Chromebooks

Middle School students are required to have a Chromebook for school work.

Visit the Chromebook Setup Guide for related information.

As a parent, you want to make sure that your child has the tools they need for learning. There are many different Chromebook models available, so you can choose one that best meets your child's needs. Google has created a new, simple standard called Chromebook Plus for quality Chromebooks that should last for 3+ years, supporting all of Middle School. We recommend the devices that meet the Chromebook Plus requirements and have a touchscreen.

Some factors to consider when choosing a Chromebook for your child include:

  • Price: Chromebook Plus devices range in price from around $370 to $800
  • Screen: 14" is more portable than larger screens and recommended for most students. Ensure your device has a touchscreen.
  • Battery life: Chromebooks last 10+ hours on a single charge.
  • Weight: most 14" Chromebook Plus models weigh less than 3.5 pounds.
  • Warranty: we recommend a 3 year warranty with accidental damage protection to ensure the device lasts for all of Middle School.
