Autodesk

All UPrep students and faculty can access Autodesk software for free through https://www.autodesk.com/education. Log in with your school email to get started. Then reach out to June Peters at jpeters@universityprep.org to be assigned software licenses for the tools you need. Autodesk software is widely used in engineering, architecture, product design, and digital fabrication.

3D Design & Modeling

Fusion — Integrated 3D CAD, CAM, and CAE platform for product design, mechanical engineering, and fabrication. Ideal for laser cutting, CNC, and 3D printing workflows.

Tinkercad — Browser-based 3D modeling and circuit design app for beginners and quick projects. Great for students learning fundamentals.

Inventor — Advanced mechanical design and simulation software for professional engineering workflows.

Architecture & Construction

Revit — Building Information Modeling (BIM) software for architectural design, documentation, and coordination.

AutoCAD — Professional 2D drafting and 3D design tool used across engineering and architecture fields.

AutoCAD LT — Simplified version of AutoCAD focused on 2D drafting.

Civil 3D — Civil engineering design software for roads, grading, and infrastructure.

Media & Entertainment

Maya — 3D animation, modeling, and rendering software used in film, games, and visualization.

3ds Max — Professional 3D modeling and animation for design visualization and game development.

MotionBuilder — Real-time 3D character animation and motion capture editing.

Mudbox — Digital sculpting and texture painting for high-detail 3D models.

Manufacturing & Simulation

Fusion 360 with Extension Packs — Adds tools for generative design, electronics, nesting, and manufacturing simulation.

Navisworks — Project review software for 3D model coordination and clash detection.

Collaboration & Cloud Tools

Autodesk Docs — Cloud-based document management for design and construction teams.

Autodesk Drive — Secure cloud storage for design files.

Autodesk Viewer — Online tool to preview, share, and comment on 2D and 3D designs without installing software.
