Does adding my child's UPrep account to Family Link give me control over it?
Question
I've added my child's UPrep account as a secondary account under Google Family Link. Does that give me control over their school account too? Will screen time or app blocks I set apply to their UPrep login?
Answer
No. Adding the UPrep account as a secondary account inside your child's Family Link-managed personal profile gives you a narrow set of conveniences — signing in to websites, checking email, and using a few designated apps like Google Classroom under parent supervision — not general supervision over the UPrep account. Screen time limits, app installs, and content filtering all apply only to the personal account, not the UPrep one.
This is separate from whether your child also has the actual UPrep account set up as its own account on the device (added at the sign-in screen, not as a secondary) — that's the normal, expected setup, and it's what lets required class apps install automatically. That account is intentionally outside Family Link's reach, governed by UPrep's own Workspace policy instead — see Recommended Setup. Adding UPrep as a secondary account is a convenience on top of that, not a replacement for it.
